NHCA January 2010 Minutes

The NHCA met on January 25, 2010, at the Workforce Development Office in Grand Island.
The meeting was called to order at 7:32 PM
Members present were Vicki Pflasterer, Rob Ebel, Monnie Fischer, Jaci Behlen, Joni Ebel and Cher Scoville. Absent were John Bachelor, Rosemary Johns and Amye Lilienthal.
The minutes from the Novemeber meeting were read.
Rob Ebel made a motion to pass the minutes as read and Jacki Behlen seconded.
The financial report was presented with a balance of $1,587.28. There were no outstanding bills.

OLD BUSINESS:
Club Account:
The NHCA account is in the process of having new signature cards signed.
Halter Classes:
It was decided at the last meeting not to offer halter classes at NHCA sponsored shows this year, but to take it into consideration next year.
NEW BUSINESS:
Website:
The website is using the same host, Heartland, at a fee of $249.00 per year.  Cher presented the idea of selling ads that would be featured on the web page and offered to donate the $249.00 host fee on the condition that if enough ads were sold she could be reimbursed for half of the fee.  A motion was made by Monnie Fischer that Cher would be repaid the full fee of $249.00 ater the sale of ads reached $700.00, the motion was seconded by Joni Ebel.  The ads will consist of sponsors of the NHCA (businesses or individuals). Classifieds will be listed on the web site and will be free to all NHCA members. Anyone interested, or knowing of anyone interested, in placing an ad may contact Cher, or any board member.
We are also looking for pictures of club members or activities to post on the web site. They may also be directed to Cher.
Logo:
A motion was made by Cher and seconded by Jacki to hold a contest for a new club logo for 2011.  All club members will be eligable for the contest.
The winner will receive a one year paid NHCA membership and be featured in an article posted on the NHCA web site.
Rulebook & By Laws:
Joni has been editing the rulebook.  Joni, Vicki and Mandi Pflasterer voluteered to head a commitee and are looking for other volunteers to help with the re-formatting of the rule book and the club by-laws.  Anyone available to help may contact one of them.
Show Dates:
Tentitive Show dates reserved for the 2010 show season are as follows:
Icebreaker NHCA show - Columbus - May 28th, 29th & 30th  (Showbill pending)
NHCA show - York - June 4th - 5th (Showbill Pending)
NHCA show, clinic & 4D barrel run - Columbus - June 12 & 13 - (Showbill pending)
Sherriff's posse NHCA show - Grand Island - June 19th, 20th & 21st
Sherriff's posse NHCA show - Grand Island - Aug 13th - 14th
NHCA Jamboree - Grand Island - Aug 15 (Showbill Pending)
Club Computer:
This subject was tabled until the next board meeting.
Sponsorships:
Vicki voluteered to make a poster of the NHCA class sponsors and post it at each show held.
Saddle:
A motion was made by Rob and seconded by Cher to present the monetary equivalent of a saddle to the high-point all-around member.  The exact saddle to be chosen by the recipient, same as last year, and MUST say NHCA on it.  The exact monetary amount to be determined by the funds available. The saddle point issue was tabled.
Fundraisers:
A possible raffle, to be held at the Icebreaker show, was discussed.  All members are welcome to donate items. 
Community Service:
This item was tabled until the next meeting.
 
A motions was made by Joni and seconded by Jacki to adjourn the meeting.
The next meeting will be held Feb. 15, 2010, at the Workforce Deveopment Office in Grand Island at 7:30 PM.
