NHCA March 2010 Minutes The Nebraska Horse Club Association held their monthly board meeting on March 15, 2010, 7:30 PM, at the Workforce Development Office in Grand Island. Vickie Pflasterer, Rob Ebel, Monnie Fischer, Jaci Behlen, Joni Ebel and Amye Lilienthal were present, while John Bachelor, Rosemary Johns and Cher Scoville were absent. The minutes from the last meeting were reviewed. Joni made a motion to accept the minutes and Rob seconded it. A financial report was given showing a current balance of $1,296.28, after both insurance checks cleared. Monnie made a motion to accept the finacial report as given and Joni seconded it. SHOW SCHEDULE FOR 2010 NHCA ICEBREAKER SHOW - May 28,29,30 in Columbus (Approved) Hiring of a judge has been in the process, but no decision has been made. NHCA SPONSORED CLINIC AND 4-D BARREL RUN - (Date & Location Pending) SHERIFF'S POSSE NHCA SHOW - June 18,19 & 20 in Grand Island (Approved) AURORA 4-H NHCA SHOW - June 26 & 27 in Aurora (Pending) SHERIFF'S POSSE NHCA SHOW - Aug 13 & 14 in Grand Island (Pending) NHCA JAMBOREE SHOW - Aug 15 in Grand Island (Pending) JUDGES Vicki is going to aquire a current 4-H approved judges list. SHOW PACKETS The information used in the past for clubs showing interest or wishing to hold a NHCA approved show was reviewed. Corrections were discussed. Monnie will make the needed corrections to the paper work and represent the information at a later meeting. WEBSITE This subject was tabled COMPUTER Roy will be providing his computer to those who would like to retain his services. His charges will remain the same as last year. RULEBOOK The rule book is almost ready for printing. Joni will check on pricing and let the board know of the cost. The goal is to have the new rulebook available at the first show. FUNDRAISERS The Clinic and 4-D Barrel run were discussed. Changing the date and location was discussed by the board. A possible date of June 5 or June 12 and locations of Columbus, St Paul and Grand Island will be considered, depending on the availability and the 4-D schedule. Added money for the 4-D run was also discussed. It was decided that a minimum of $200 would draw more competion. Checking on sponsors and what funds are available will determine the added money. Raffle to be held at the Icebreaker show. Anyone may donate an item for the raffle with each board member providing at least one. Tickets will be sold at the show, beginning on Friday night. Joni made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Rob seconded. The next meeting will be held Monday, April 19 at the Workforce Development building, Grand Island, at 7:30 PM.
