The NHCA was incorporated in 1949, so that means we'll be celebratrating her 60th Birthday all year!!! (in 2009)
If you'r a 4-H club, saddle club, or horse minded people wanting to put on a show, we can help. We can assist with planning, advertisement, and contestants. As a group we're always looking for new places to show and friends to meet.
For 2009 we've got quite a few shows & ideas planned and the board is looking forward to implementation.
Some Rules Changed for 2009
-
Officer postions would be voted for a 2 year term.
-
4-H Judges will be approved in the NHCA after proficiency review on speed events and they pay their judges fee.
-
Contestants in the Stake race will be disqualified if the pole is upset.
-
Members showing in the NHCA will have the same / standardized number all season.
-
"Mecate's" and "slobber straps" will be allowed on Junior Horses in Perfomance Classes
-
Judges will enforce the " 2 Calls" rule if horses fail to enter the arena timley.
-
Clubs must have their show bills presented to the NHCA 30 days prior to show
Show Etiquette & Recommendations "CALL BEFORE YOU HAUL"
-
No lounge line horses in the warm up arena 1 hour before a show begins.
-
When warming up your horse, allow others to train "On The Rail" also.
-
Please don't interrupt Judges while they are judging a class. Ask the Ring Steward or Show Committe if you have a question.

Contestants are expected to know the rules they are showing under.
The Nebraska Horse Clubs Association is a family oriented group of Equine enthusiasts sponsoring Open Horse Shows in central Nebraska. We welcome all breeds of horses, and riders of all ages. Our Horse Shows are open to any and all riders at every show, but in order to earn year end points you must be an Association Member. We have overall High Point and Reserve High Point in both Performance and Speed. All four winners receive engraved buckles. Individual class high point and reserve high point winner prizes vary from year to year, last year we rewarded the winners with jackets and hooded sweatshirts.
Many of our Judges are also approved 4-H Horse Show Judges.
